SlideBoom automatically adds a “related presentations” screen to the slideshow you embed into your blog. It allows the viewers to replay, share or rate the presentation they’ve just watched. It also shows other presentations with a similar topic. But what if you don’t need all that?
We’ve got a solution for you! Just do the following:
Before embedding a corresponding code into your blog, change an “autoOpenShareScreen” setting from 1 to 0, as shown:
If you had <object … autoOpenShareScreen=1“></embed></object>,
then change it to <object … autoOpenShareScreen=0“></embed></object>.
And you there’s nothing to bother your viewers attention anymore!
SlideBoom offers you a new option that limits an access to your presentation.
All you need to do is to share a secret link with potential viewers of your creation.
To generate this link check “Give me a secret url” and press “Save” button in editing window:
Copy the url code and send it out to whoever you want to show you presentation to. It’s that easy!
Important! Make sure “I want my presentation to be available to anyone online” option is not ticked in the same editing window. It disables a secret url code creating, and your presentation will be public.
Graphic comment feature widens your abilities for creative presentation commenting. Want to draw attention to an important spot? Just highlight it!
To activate a set of graphic tools click a pen button on the player toolbar as shown below.
Both pen and highlighter are easy handled, and various colors and brush sizes are to your choice. Plus, you are always free to erase what you have scribbled.
With a “thumb-up” and “thumb-down” you also are able to express your positive or negative attitude to the given comments.
Why don’t share a comment that you liked/disliked or add it to your own blog? Just go to “Share comment” and copy a necessary link.
If you see a comment that you consider to be defiant, click white flag button to complain.
Well, if you want to upload a presentation with audio narrations to SlideBoom, the most easy and fast way to do it is to use the iSpring Free PowerPoint add-in that works perfectly with SlideBoom. Then you will not need to care about the tricks that will go later in this post. But if you would like to open your presentation without any problems at another computer or to upload your presentation to SlideBoom from web browser, then read further.
Recently we’ve received a question about embedding large audio files in PowerPoint presentations. The tricky thing is that PowerPoint doesn’t allow to embed large .wav files by default. You need to adjust some “advanced” settings to allow this. This restriction works only for .wav files. If you have .mp3 files, you won’t encounter this problem. I think many people use a recorded speech saved as .wav file in their presentation and they don’t want to care about encoding their .wav files into .mp3 that is very compact format though.
So if you need to embed large .wav files into your PowerPoint presentation, please follow my instructions below. These instructions are for PowerPoint 2007 but I am sure you can do the same things with the previous versions.
Open PowerPoint and select “More Commands” in the menu as shown in the picture:
Click “Advanced” tab at the left side of the dialog and scroll to the “Save” options:
Type something that works for you in the field “Link sounds with file size greater than:”. For example I typed 20500 for 20 megs. The maximum value is 50000 that is about 50 megs.

You may notice that your presentations has a language field now and the field has a value with postfix “(Detected)”. Yes, SlideBom does detect the language of your presentation automatically if it contains any text of course If your presentation contains only photos and you typed just a couple of words at your slides, SlideBoom will not be able to detect language of your presentation. Anyway the most accurate way to tell other people what language is used in your presentation is to set the “Language” field manually. You can specify the language of your presentation while uploading it or change the language later by editing details of the presentation.

Presentation rating was replaced with thumbs up/down. Now there is no start, only a positive or negative number. We hope this we will help us to get you more feedback from presentation viewers.

Do you think the navigation panel of the SlideBoom player is not necessary when you are watching a cool slide show in full screen? If so, you can now easily hide and show the navigation panel of the presentation player using auto hide feature. Even if the navigation panel is not visible, you can switch slides using mouse cursor at the left or right side of the slide:
Here is how to use this new feature:
Switch to full screen mode.
Click “Auto Hide” button.
Move your mouse cursor away from navigation panel.
Navigation panel will disappear after step 3. To get the navigation panel back, move your mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen where the navigation panel was before.
Now you can view slide transcriptions directly in the presentation player while viewing a presentation. This is especially useful when a presentation doesn’t have audio narrations. Here is the video that shows how to use this new feature:
